Gratitude is a simple art — but it can completely reframe any negative event.
When someone or something stresses us out or irritates us, whether it’s a bad bout of road rage, or an off-the-cuff comment seemingly destined to provoke, we always have a choice as to how we respond.
We can either get caught up in the heat of the moment and stoke the fire— or step back, see the situation for what it really is, and diffuse the tension.
While this can be difficult at the time, WildFit founder Eric Edmeades how viewing painful moments through a “hindsight window” puts the event in perspective and removes unnecessary emotional ties.
And the way to achieve this? Gratitude.
